TRANSLATOR & CULTURAL COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Santa Fe Translations is led by Alex Streeper, a bilingual translator and marketing professional born and raised in Mexico and based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. With a background in marketing and Hispanic outreach, she specializes in English–Spanish translation for museums, public institutions, and community-focused initiatives that serve diverse audiences.
EXPERIENCE
Alex has collaborated with organizations across Santa Fe and New Mexico, including the Museum of International Folk Art, New Mexico Museum of Art, Historic Santa Fe Foundation, the City of Santa Fe, and the Santa Fe Children’s Museum.
Her work includes translating:
Exhibition texts and object labels
Interpretive and educational materials
Public-facing museum content
Civic communications and government materials
Marketing and outreach campaigns
Many of these projects involve close coordination with communications teams and designers to ensure Spanish-language materials maintain clarity, tone, and visual consistency.
BACKGROUND
Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from Tecnológico de Monterrey and was recognized as one of the Santa Fe Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 40 Under Forty in 2022. She has also volunteered as a translator with the Santa Fe Dreamers Project, supporting access to information and resources for immigrant communities.
COMMUNITY & CREATIVE WORK
Outside of her translation work, Alex is active in Santa Fe’s creative community. She is the founder of Alita’s Mexican Curios, a small business producing handmade jewelry inspired by Mexican craft traditions. Alex also co-founded ArtWalk Santa Fe, a series of recurring low-barrier art markets that create opportunities for Northern New Mexico artists to sell their work and connect with the community. She has also participated in theatrical productions with Teatro Paraguas, reflecting her continued involvement in Santa Fe’s arts scene.
